Ms. Khadijah Ameen was re-elected Member for St. Augustine in the 13th Republican Parliament and appointed Minister of Rural Development and Local Government in 2025. She was previously elected to the 12th Republican Parliament as the Member for St. Augustine in 2020.

Ms. Ameen first entered Parliament as an Opposition Senator on Wednesday September 23, 2015, at the start of the 11th Republican Parliament.

Ms. Ameen was nominated as a Local Government Councillor at age 21 and elected at age 22. In 2010 she became the youngest Chairman of the Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation.

Ms. Ameen holds an MBA in Leadership from Anglia Ruskin University and is pursuing her LLB with the University of London.
