Ms. Jearlean John served as a Minister of Government during the 5th and 6th Republican Parliaments, holding several Ministerial portfolios including Minister of Transport and Minister of Tourism and Tobago Affairs. She was appointed a Senator at the start of the 12th Republican Parliament. She was elected Member for Couva North in April of 2025 and was appointed to serve as Minister of Works and Infrastructure.

Ms. John has a track record of entrepreneurial and management excellence for over twenty five (25) years in both the public and private sectors. She also held positions as CEO of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and Managing Director of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. 

She is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Professional Accountant, and Certified Management Accountant.
