Mr. Anil Roberts was first elected to the House of Representatives on Monday May 24, 2010 as the Member for D'Abadie/O'Meara. He was appointed Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs on May 29, 2010. In 2020 he was appointed an Opposition Senator of the 12th Republican Parliament. In 2025, he was appointed a Senator, assigned as a Minister in the Ministry of Housing.Mr. Roberts is well known as the swimming coach of Olympic Bronze Medal winner George Bovell III, and as the host of the nationally popular television sports show, Spalk. He was also the host of one of the most listened-to radio talk shows in Trinidad and Tobago.
