Dr. Narindra Roopnarine was elected to the House of Representatives, as the Member for Naparima in April of 2025 and assigned as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Community Development.

In 1996, Dr. Roopnarine was awarded a National Scholarship and has been a Medical Doctor since 2001. Dr. Roopnarine holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Diploma in Primary Care, a Masters in Family Medicine, Diploma in Emergency Medicine, and a Master of Public Health. Dr. Roopnarine is presently engaged in private practice as a Family Physician and a Public Health Specialist and has lectured part time at The University of The West Indies in the Family Medicine Program since 2008.
