Mr. Dominic Smith was appointed a Senator and assigned to serve as Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence in the 13th Republican Parliament on May 3, 2025.

Mr. Smith previously served as a temporary Opposition Senator during the 12th Republican Parliament.

Mr. Smith is an entrepreneur and economist. He holds a BSc in Economics with a minor in International Relations, and a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on Sustainable Development and international financial organizations.

Mr. Smith has built businesses in technology, data and research, renewable energy and tourism. His work spans both the private and public sectors, with a strong focus on sustainable development, economic policy, and finance.

He is committed to driving inclusive growth, digital transformation, and long-term progress for Trinidad and Tobago with a focus on youth development and inclusion.
