Mr. Ravi Ratiram was first appointed a Temporary Government Senator during the 10th Republican Parliament. He was elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for Couva North in the 12th Republican Parliament.

Mr. Ratiram was appointed as a Senator, with the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, in the 13th Republic Parliament.
